Application Specialist

General Information:

Hitachi Energy Transformers- Business Solutions IT Organization is seeking a Application Specialist who will provide overall support to the Global BST IT team to drive value and business growth to the business for South Boston VA Location.

Your Responsibilities:

• Involved in the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of IT solutions/services where application knowledge is needed.
• Application and software design, in order to provide product solutions for specific business needs • Identify, propose, advise and implement existing IT application technology and IT solutions/services, sharing knowledge and -depending on seniority - guiding others on implementation and operation, using understanding of existing IT application technology and business requirements.
• Manage/ support the entire process of building applications, from the design process, to creating, testing and rolling out the application
• Design a product solution in line with specifications given by Solution Architect, Application Manager and business users
• Implement application and provide support services for users
• Provide trainings for the business users

• 2-3 years of experience in IT Applications Management and Service Delivery in multinational companies
• Experience and ability to work with virtual delivery teams as well as distributed stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or business management
• Experience in one or more coding languages (e.g. VB.Net, C#, MS SQL, HTML, JavaScript)
• Experience with development platforms (e.g. Azure, Visual Studio + DevOps. Microsoft Power Apps, GitHub)
• Experience with functional domain where the application belongs to. (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing and Sales)
• Understanding of software development lifecycles
• Strong ability to understand context for code, the codebase, and its relation to business objectives.
• Exceptional analytical abilities for navigating intricate data structures.
• Demonstrated excellence in project management.
• Understanding of end-to-end business processes from Sales to Manufacturing.
• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
