Application Support Engineer (Risk & Valuations)

This is a mission-critical application delivering overnight and intraday Risk Limits and Valuations for the Front Office.
The role involves maintaining application stability and availability, managing continuous software releases to add features and enhancements, and ensuring data integrity from official EOD Market Data and positions priced by the Model Library.

Responsibilities

• Monitor EOD batches, identify root causes for job failures and remediate issues promptly
• Utilize ITRS Dashboard to ensure application health and proactively address potential issues
• Ensure the timely delivery of data to downstream consumers, including the Front Office
• Drive improved application stability and ensure higher data quality delivered to Front Office systems
• Document new issues and maintain / update existing documentation for known issues
• Coordinate with multiple groups (Support, Development, Analytics, Quants) to resolve problems efficiently
• Investigate and resolve pricing failures using SQL and Linux as key tools
• Enhance workflows by developing automation scripts using PowerShell or similar scripting languages

• Advanced proficiency in querying and troubleshooting databases
• Strong command-line skills for system monitoring and troubleshooting
• Experience in monitoring EOD batch processes and resolving job failures
• Familiarity with ITRS Dashboard for application health monitoring
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or equivalent scripting tools
• Solid understanding of application support workflows, issue documentation and cross-team collaboration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
