Application Support Specialist

Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to provide L2 production support for its critical shared services platforms. The ideal candidate should have 5-8 years of relevant production support experience with a strong understanding of Java/DB/Messaging/LB Application Architecture and monitoring tools. As a seasoned resource, the candidate is expected to work independently to ensure systems are highly available and collaborate with application development teams and infrastructure support groups. The candidate should have a strong customer service and support focus with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate should also be able to analyze complex issues, troubleshoot issues as a subject matter expert, and recommend technical solutions on application problems. Additionally, the candidate should possess sound knowledge of the securities or financial services industry and distributed applications. The candidate should hold a Bachelor of Engineering or an equivalent degree in Computer/Software Engineering. ITIL Certification is desired. The candidate should also be flexible in working outside of core business hours at short notice. • 6 to 10+ years of experience in Production Support with an understanding of Java/DB/Messaging/LB Application Architecture and monitoring tools
• Knowledge of working with a wide variety of platforms and application stacks
• Ability to quickly understand new application frameworks in the customer's environment (Banking and Financial Domain preferred)
• Strong technical skills in PLSql, Unix, and hands-on experience in Shell/Python/PowerShell Scripting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
• Basic knowledge of SDLC
• Effective issue management skills, problem identification, root cause analysis, and solution recommendation
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent degree in Computer/Software Engineering
• Experience with ITIL environment. ITIL Certification desired
• Familiarity with distributed applications including strong programming skills in Java and strong RMDBS, noSQL database experience

• 6 to 10+ years of relevant Production Support experience.
• Strong understanding of Java/DB/Messaging/LB Application Architecture and monitoring tools (AppDynamics and Splunk).
• Wide variety of platforms and application stacks experience.
• Strong technical skills PLSql, Unix, Preferred to have hands-on experience in Shell/Python/PowerShell Scripting.
• Experience with working in an ITIL environment. ITIL Certification desired.
• Basic knowledge of SDLC.
