Ardent is seeking an Applications Developer – Front End  to join our team.  

This is a Remote/Hybrid position located in the Washington, D.C. area.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking an Applications Developer – Front End.  We are seeking a skilled and creative Applications Developer with a focus on front-end development to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces. If you are adept at turning design mockups into responsive and interactive web applications and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers and back-end developers to implement responsive and visually appealing user interfaces.
  • Write clean, efficient, and modular front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Develop and maintain web applications that adhere to design specifications and user experience requirements.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and implement cross-browser compatibility.
  • Optimize application performance for speed and responsiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in front-end development.
  • Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance code quality.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.

Requirements: 

  • 8+ years of relevant experience as an applications developer
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study
  • Must have familiarity with building web applications using JavaScript frameworks
  • Must have basic backend/API development experience
  • Must have previous SQL/Oracle database administration experience
  • Must have understanding of GIS core concepts and GIS application development.
  • Experience designing and developing solutions with Angular, Angular JS, and Material IO in an Agile Software Development environment
  • Experience with DevOps pipeline tools including configuration management (Git), requirements (e.g. JIRA), automated testing, and deployment
  • Experience with Agile application development concepts including build automation, pair programming, testing automation and code management using GitHub
  • Experience migrating from AngularJS to Angular
  • Experience in utilizing Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to implement common styles and web page layouts
  • Experience utilizing Storybook to build and maintain common Angular components
  • Experience utilizing Spring WebFlux to handle large number of requests on a thread
  • Experience with Web Security and Role Based access using JSON Web Token (JWT)

Preferred and a plus:

  • Certifications: AWS, ESRI
  • Previous Angular experience
  • ArcGIS Maps SKD for JavaScript
  • ArcGIS server knowledge
