We are seeking an Application Engineer to help us write the next chapter of our success  story.  This role will be based in our Taiwan office.

Role 

The DSP Concepts’ Applications Engineer works with our automotive and consumer electronics customers to ensure successful integration, deployment, and use of DSP Concepts’ embedded software platform, Audio Weaver. The primary responsibilities for the Applications Engineer are:

  • Be lead Audio Weaver users (learn and test new features, report bugs, etc)
  • Building upon our internal knowledge base to develop, update, and maintain engineering documentation for internal and external consumption
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, with a focus on business development and customer success
  • Support customer integrations of Audio Weaver via engineer-to-engineer interactions on-site, by phone, and in our online forum
  • Develop enhancements to our DSP solutions enabling easier integration and debugging of customer problems
  • Lead customer Audio Weaver training workshops
  • Envisioning and developing technical collateral to help make our products easier to learn
    • This includes developing and communicating reference audio processing designs and refining formal product documentation
  • Support business opportunities through technical demonstrations
  • Identify and solve customer needs individually or through cross-functional team collaboration when necessary
  • Be the voice-of-the-customer for internal stakeholders
  • Support trade shows and conferences
  • Designing and conducting internal hardware/software tests to ensure the quality of the device before customer delivery
  • Travel to customer sites may be required up to 1 week every 2 months
  • Domestic and international travel when required
  • Supporting the global Sales and Engineering teams
  • Supporting global customers in different time zones (Europe and Asia)
    • You may have to adjust your working hours to accommodate

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Computer Engineering/Science, Digital Signal Processing, or equivalent) + 5 years experience with a focus on embedded SW, audio/acoustics, and DSP theory
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive and/or consumer electronics audio applications engineering or design engineering
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, business acumen, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient coding skills in C, Matlab, and Python
  • Experience with real-time embedded-software development
  • Experience evaluating audio system performance and test methodologies
  • Ability to independently learn new products and technologies
  • Passion for collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated and driven by new business success
  • Experience in business development activities
  • Able to write technical documentation and application notes
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Machine Learning experience is a plus
