Applications Engineer

What you'll do:

The primary responsibility of the Applications Engineer is to support efforts to profitably grow product sales as a member of the GEIS PH Engineering Services team. Primary areas of focus will be field technical assistance (both pre and post-sale) with a focus on B-Line's structural products such as cable tray, bolted framing, and seismic products. Field technical assistance and sales support responsibilities will include: project take-offs, drawing development, application design modeling (2D and 3D), custom project specification, bid preparation, proposal submittals, documentation development, documentation management, and field problem resolution.
A. Acts as support for B-Line's MEPF structural support products, leveraging technical and project management skills to coordinate all activities during the project life cycle

B. Perform project design tasks, including but not limited to: material take-off, drawing layouts, assembly drawings, submittal and production drawing creation, finite element analysis, custome design, etc.
D. Works with customer and outside sales to develop cost-effective solutions to meet the customer and project needs.
E. Reports potential/actual problems requiring attention and provides alternative solutions when identified for project completion.
F. Customer and site visits as necessary to perform installation inspections, problem resolution, etc.
G. Acts as the primary representative in technical assistance and project status
H. Other duties as necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Three (3+) years of experience in a Design Engineering environment
• Proficiency in Solidworks and other 3D modeling software
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other 2D drawing software
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis a plus
• Experience in MEPF system design/layout and design for non-structural component supports
• Experience in Mechanical & Electrical equipment support design
• Knowledge of manufacturing documentation requirements for Oil & Gas, Power, Mining, heavy industrial projects such as: submittal drawings, production drawings, test reports and certifications, etc.
