Job Description
Tulip, the leader in frontline operations, is helping companies around the world equip their workforce with connected apps, leading to higher quality work, improved efficiency, and end-to-end traceability across operations. Companies of all sizes and across industries have implemented composable solutions with Tulip’s cloud-native, no-code platform to solve some of the most pressing challenges in operations: error-proofing processes and boosting productivity, capturing and analyzing real-time data, and continuous improvement.
A spinoff out of MIT, Tulip is headquartered in Somerville, MA, with offices in Germany and Hungary. Focused on composable, human-centric solutions for industrial environments, Tulip is disrupting the MES category and has been recognized as a World Economic Forum Global Innovator. Tulip has also been named one of Energage’s Top Workplaces USA and one of Built In Boston’s “Best Places to Work” and “Best Midsize Places to Work” for 2023.Â
About You:
Are you an associate creative director with a track record of concepting and delivering smart, world-class campaigns across a variety of platforms? Tulip is looking for an ACD who's inspired by new trends and emerging technologies. At the same time, you speak the language of business stakeholders and marketing colleagues to articulate your ideas and solve problems effectively. You're equally good at inspiring teams and mentoring junior creatives, as well as providing clear direction and concrete constructive criticism.
Tulip is building a global company that speaks to a variety of different industries and audiences. We want people who experience Tulip to feel like their experience with the brand is consistent, smart but approachable, and carries across all the different touchpoints. We are looking for a creative leader who can think about the efficiency of that system and work with stakeholders to meet their specific needs, while ensuring it works for the company’s larger business goals.
What skills do I need?Â
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience with concepting, creative directing, and designing major marketing, communication, or advertising campaigns with relevant management experience
- At least 3 years of formal art direction experience where you personally led campaigns for a brand, ideally B2B SaaS or technology related
- Experience with website design, video, motion, and design patterns preferred
- Knowledge of UX/UI and web design principles
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally
- Solid written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time to meet aggressive deadlines
- Expert mastery of all design tools, platforms, and versions of applicable software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and Indesign)
- Exceptional graphic design skills, including layout and typography
Key Responsibilities:
- You are the steward of the Tulip brand in all of its iterations: across social media, in decks, in real life—anywhere it lives. You are able to make decisions about how the brand is represented across mediums and how it needs to evolve, including color palette, typography, and brand campaigns across mediums.Â
- As a design lead, you are excited by opportunities to try out new things: from short-form video and product showcases to hybrid event concepts and April Fool’s Day campaigns, mural art direction, managing CAD illustrators, branding suites for events, and more. Our marketing team has a lot of ideas, and you are a partner in helping bring these ideas to reality. You'll have many balls in the air at once, and you'll keep things flowing smoothly, continually reviewing and optimizing every piece of creative work your team produces.Â
- You are a creative problem solver. You can support Tulip by developing bespoke materials like icons for new capabilities, creative solutions for displaying products in our office, and swag designs for employees and events.Â
- You are both a manager and a mentor to junior designers with a solid design background: a strong portfolio, good references, and a leader who can work in a cross-functional, matrixed way. You can motivate creative teams to execute integrated, cross-channel projects that are creatively brilliant, strategically on point, and seamlessly executed, on time and on budget, and are comfortable working with engineers, executives, marketers, and project managers.Â
- You will enable the web development team to create content that feels authentic and engaging and connects with our users: engineers that work in physical places and have interesting and dynamic jobs.
- You understand how to work with engineers and think systematically about our website. You speak the language of UX best practices and design systems and can create a structure that helps the company achieve its business and branding goals but can also be maneuvered by all our content creators, who may have varying levels of design experience.
- You are the SME of all things design and can help the marketing team work with external vendors on development projects like tradeshow booth experiences, virtual event branding, and co-marketing projects.Â
Key Collaborators:
Marketing, Product, Growth/Eco (Web Development), SalesÂ
