Associate Data Analyst

Position Summary: 

Follows standardized practices/procedures while working on routine assignments. Applies broad theoretical knowledge obtained through education. Supports projects and programs.
Designs, develops, implements, and maintains data programming solutions for data quality and business rules analysis, hypothesis testing, champion/challenger testing, and product or strategy decision advancements. Maintains a techical process expertise through understanding of the software solutions, technical steps, and underlying data used to execute the decisioning. Subject matter expert on the input and output of data to support any research or advancements. Programs for the desired workflow of data decisions and hypothesis testing. Maintains a quality and control aspect of the data execution used for decision making. Is able to build data visualizations to report and inform others what is occuring in the underlying data.

Key Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

• Provide low level data mining and research on data issues
• Maintain day to day data execution and quality assurance steps to support business processes.
• Support the execution of the application of customer segmentation processes using programming software or other analysis tools.
• Support the segmentation procedures by performing quality assurance checks and documentation. Monitor exception reports when assigned. Research the cause and effects of known problems discovered through the data when assigned.
• Work closely with subject matter experts to correctly document changes and improvements to policies and procedures.
• Assist with ad-hoc project work when needed.

Professional Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Foundational/Conceptual knowledge including
• MS Excel (xlookup, vlookup, pivot tables, data connections )
• Ability to take specific structured job functions and manage those process steps. Problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to perform data and quality checks and low level complex ad-hoc work
• Ability to become self-sufficient over time
• Ability to analyze data for troubleshooting issues. 

Experience: 

• Introductory-level experience in Data Mining, Data Analysis, Report building and SQL
• Less than 2 years’ work experience.

Education:
BA/BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or quantitative field.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in an office environment with telephones, personal computers, and printers. The office environment is an open workspace with individual workstations. The noise level of the environment is usually moderate. This position is a sedentary position with seldom to occasional lifting of less than 11 pounds; requires frequent lifting of less than 1 pound; and may require standing less than or equal to 1/3 of the day.
