ATTN: is looking for an Associate Producer to join our policy and social impact team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced digital video environment. We’re looking for self-starting individuals who can juggle multiple projects and levels of involvement at once. This position will focus on short, informative editorial videos specifically for TikTok and Instagram Reels. Are you constantly scrolling your feed and thinking of fun ways to communicate complicated concepts in a simple way? Are you constantly consuming the latest news about US politics and global events? Are you the person your friends all come to for questions about what’s going on in the world? Do you always have strong opinions on the messaging you see in political campaign ads? If so, this role is for you. The ideal candidate has exceptional research and writing skills, experience on set, and excels at visual storytelling. A strong creative POV and attention to detail are a must.Â
What You’ll Do:
- Developing pitches for evergreen content related to civics and public policy
- Liaising between ATTN: and campaign creators and collaborating with them to develop content
- Drafting scripts and outlines for evergreen influencer content
- Conducting research / fact-checking
- Watching and giving notes on initial rounds of video cuts
- Conducting outreach for potential guests and on-screen talent
- Researching, finding, and recruiting niche creators for policy-driven, digital video campaigns
- Creating talking points, scripts, and research documents for influencers
Who You Are:
- Has 2+ years working in digital video in either non-profits, political campaigns, or journalistic newsroomsÂ
- Holds a deep obsession and understanding of global current events, U.S. politics, and news
- Has experience communicating directly with external parties and partners, and always communities professionally and respectfully
- Has experience in producing and/or writing rapid response content
- Is comfortable owning relationships with and project managing social media creators and influencers
- Is a strong writer who thinks about the best way to tell a story from a virality standpoint
- Possesses a deep understanding of how to make shareable content for a variety of media platforms
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Brings clear, distinctive creative vision to each production
- Exhibits a can-do approach and ability to perform under pressure
- A background in journalism and/or newsrooms is a plus
- A background in political campaigns and/or advocacy is a plus
Compensation:
This position has an estimated annual salary range of $65,000 to $77,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
Candidates can be based in Los Angeles, New York, or remote. If located in Los Angeles, this will be a hybrid role with 2 days in office.
