We are looking for a smart, creative, and passionate Associate Security Engineer to help continue improving our information security posture at The CoStar Group. You will engage with all departments of The CoStar Group helping drive and shape the way we manage the protection of our customers and our ever-growing data environment. You will utilize scripting languages to automate routines and solve complex challenges. You will also perform security alert and incident handling. Experience in an IR, SOC or Threat Engineering environment is a plus!
This position has the opportunity for hybrid work with up to two days remote per week. Four-day work weeks are also an option for those applicants that are interested.

Associate Security Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Security incident handling involves investigating issues to determine if there is a real security incident or a false positive
- Use security tools to audit infrastructure, detect issues and coordinate remediation efforts of any findings with relevant business leaders and teams
- Set up dashboards, review production logs, and look for patterns of possible security incidents using our SIEM solution
- Follow, develop, and improve network and security configuration procedures
- Ensure SIEM is receiving and correctly parsing relevant security logs, tune rules, investigate alerts, and perform maintenance
- Perform regular checks and testing to ensure that logs are coming into and being process correctly.
- Ensure that CoStar is deriving security value from its SIEM investment with high-fidelity alerting, quality dashboarding and innovative improvement regime
- Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security (or related field)
- Minimum 0-2 years' experience in Information Security
- Scripting/programming skills (Perl, Python, KQL, PowerShell, Bash), ability to write Regex
- Knowledge of UNIX and Windows environments as pertains to Network and Security tasks including syslog, DNS, load balancers, and Windows Event Log
- One or more security certification such as SANS/GIAC or a CCNA/MCSA/Linux+
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with others regardless of departmental or geographic boundaries
- The ability to produce detailed technical documentation
- Excellent customer service
