Job Description

Tomorrow.io’s Customer Team makes it possible for weather-sensitive industries like technology and on on-demand, construction, aviation, energy, outdoor entertainment, autonomous cars, drones, and other forward-thinking businesses, to operate faster than the speed of weather. 

We’re looking for experienced and talented aviation meteorologists who are interested in supporting aviation operations for a Civil Aviation Authority. A strong passion for meteorology is essential to succeed in this role, and candidates selected for this role should also be comfortable working with other meteorologists in a team environment. Experience providing meteorological services and consultation to customers in other industries (transportation, professional sports leagues, emergency management, etc.) is also a strong plus. 


As an Aviation Meteorologist at Tomorrow.io, You’ll:

  • Prepare aviation meteorological products (SIGMETs, AIRMETs, etc.) and disseminate to key stakeholders. 
  • Provide direct meteorological consultation with key stakeholders, playing an active role in the decision support process.
  • Assist in the preparation of meteorological products for other customers through a broad range of sectors (transportation, professional sports leagues, emergency management, etc.)

What you bring: 

  • 2+ years of operational experience as an aviation meteorologist.Able to work a variety of shifts (24/7), as well as weekends/holidays.Significant experience creating SIGMETs and AIRMETs.
  • Significant experience creating turbulence and icing forecasts.
  • Significant experience forecasting ceilings and visibility.
  • Significant experience providing written and verbal meteorological consultation related to aviation meteorology.
  • Experience creating meteorological products and/or providing meteorological consultation for customers in other industries (transportation, professional sports leagues, emergency management, etc.) is a strong plus.
