Job Description

A Sybase Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of a database. They are involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. The DBA ensures that data remains consistent across the database, that it is clearly defined, that users access data concurrently, in a form that suits their needs, and that there is provision for data security and recovery control (all data is retrievable in an emergency).

Experience and Requirements:

• SYBASE DBA with L2 and L3 skillset
• Excellent knowledge of performance tuning
• Very good knowledge of database maintenance tasks like backup/restore
• Very good knowledge of corresponding client software connections
• Knowledge/experience working with collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow, Agile skills)
• Automation: scripting, PowerShell, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, API
• Strong proficiency in Sybase and database management tools
• Good to have Experience with database design, implementation, and management
• Understanding of data security and recovery processes
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools
• Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
• Knowledge of French language (spoken and written) would be a plus
