Job Profile:

As the Cloud Systems Engineer, you collaborate with the CTO to deliver complex Azure infrastructure in accordance with detailed architectural designs. You will help design, document, secure and grow the Azure Cloud implementation hosting our Server Based Application for Government customers. You will work with Application Engineers, Database Expert, Product Managers, and the IT team, to manage, secure and stabilize the application and infrastructure in the Azure Gov Cloud.

Responsibilities:

Implementing and delivering a wide variety of Microsoft Azure projects and systems.

• Building and deploying Azure Landing Zones and autoscaling plans.
• Building and configuring Azure Virtual Networks and associated routers and firewalls.
• Configuring and supporting Firewalls, VPN's and associated IDS systems, including hybrid network configurations
• Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Azure Virtual Machines and native Azure Cloud Services.
  • Windows 11, IIS, SharePoint, SQL Native and SQL Server.
  • Server Security Software
  • Patch Management
• Deploying, migrating, and administering Microsoft Identity and Access Management products
  • Federated Active Directory
• Deploying and configuring Windows and future Linux VMs.
• Deploying, configuring, and optimizing Azure storage
  • Mass Container Management with security and encryption.
• Benchmarking
  • Performance and Cost.
• Participate in managing workload migrations from on-premises customers and other cloud platforms to the Azure Cloud
• Participating in performance and security troubleshooting
• Identifying architecture design alternatives to deliver optimization and reduce solution Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
• Deploying and configuring monitoring and leading the charge in industry cloud certifications.
• Designing and deploying backup strategies in line with customer requirements and industry requirements.
• Facilitating application modernization and adoption of cloud-native services

Qualifications for success:

The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure Cloud, Security and Networking.

• Detailed knowledge of a range of services from the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform, particularly in relation to infrastructure and security-related services such as Azure AD, IIS, IaaS, Containers, Storage, Networking, Databases, and Azure Security
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems, native Azure Cloud Services and Virtual Machine.
• Skills in scripting and Windows PowerShell and other common scripting languages.
• Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTPS, IPSEC, and distributed networks
• Understanding of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Azure AD, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, Azure AD Proxy, SAML, and Active Directory Domain Services
• Experience in the delivery of enterprise-level highly available solutions and infrastructure with recent focus on Microsoft Cloud platform
• Experience deploying Microsoft Azure Landing Zones
• Detailed knowledge of cloud security best practices
• Experience in deploying and managing scaled, secure, and stable environments.
• Excellent documentation experience and skills
• Detailed knowledge of all components of a technical architecture
• Strong understanding of network architecture
• Detailed knowledge of cloud architectural guiding principles

Education & Other Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related subject
• At least one Microsoft Azure certification
• Experience in managing complex and secure Cloud infrastructure supporting live sensitive data provided to authenticated public users.
