Position Summary:

As a Backend Engineer,  you will be a member of Gamefam’s analytics team, focused on leading the infrastructure and improving data capabilities. Driving improvements to our processes and systems to support better decision making; Since the role touches on all parts of the product and business, the role will require a leader that has broad experience in Insights and game development. You will report to the Senior Director, Product Management of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain strategy & audience understanding for the game and help to operationalize that strategy by ensuring the development team's efforts are aligned with the critical path of creating a successful product & business and are executed effectively and efficiently
• Identify and advise towards product choices that create competitive advantages and adapt to changing market dynamics (eg: competitive, legal, etc.)
• Help to connect product strategy with broader organizational and company strategy
• Support the strategic planning and forecasting (SPF) process for the Business Unit; set targets for and monitor performance against development plans, goals, finances, & product KPIs
• Oversee issues relating to data, research, analytics, and other Insights areas of expertise including playtesting, market research, financial & other forecasting, and telemetry & reporting
• Help to ensure efficient and effective resource allocation (workforce planning, spend)
• Formally manage, lead, mentor, elevate performance of, and support career growth for Insights Rioters within the BU (Revenue Strategy, Insights, and Finance)
• Workforce planning, staffing, and hiring for Insights positions on the BU

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience (an advanced degree can account for up to 2 years of experience)
• Familiarity with both analytics and research and 5+ years experience in the gaming industry
• 3+ years experience working directly in game development
• 4+ years experience with MySQL-based databases
• High proficiency of SQL, Laravel, Vue.js
• Knowledge of the MVC design pattern, Code Versioning tools (Git & GitHub)
• Excellent teamwork, team leadership, communication, collaboration and stakeholder management
• Experience working in cross-functional teams

Pluses:

• Good knowledge of the Amazon Web Services cloud platform
• Knowledge of Docker
• Experience with Continuous Deployment tools
• Experience leading complex efforts with multiple collaborators from productdesign teams
• Familiarity with Roblox Studios

The base pay for this position is $60,000-110,000. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
