As a Backup Engineer with a focus on Commvault enterprise infrastructure solution your role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining backup infrastructure.

About the Role

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Designing: You will be responsible for designing on-prem backup infrastructure with seamless integration into cloud environments.
• Deployment: You will be involved in the deployment of backup infrastructure components like media agents, scale out storage while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments. This includes configuring hardware, software, and networking.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization: You will analyze and optimize the performance of backup infrastructure systems, identifying bottlenecks and implementing necessary adjustments to enhance the overall performance.
• Collaboration and Documentation: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and cloud architects, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of storage systems in hybrid environments. Additionally, you will create and maintain documentation related to backup infrastructure, configurations, and procedures for both on-premises and cloud-based solutions.

What you'll bring to the role:

• Extensive Experience with Commvault: At least 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Commvault backup solutions, including installation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of enterprise storage systems, data protection, and disaster recovery solutions. Familiarity with other backup solutions like NetBackup or Veeam is a plus1.
• Modern Backup Functionalities: Proficiency in modern backup technologies such as cloud-based backups, SaaS-based solutions, and pay-as-you-go models. Experience with hybrid cloud environments and the ability to integrate on-premises and cloud backup solutions seamlessly.
• Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading technical teams, managing projects, and providing mentorship to junior engineers. Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless backup operations.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex backup and recovery issues. Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, document procedures, and create detailed reports. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
