Bar Manager

Scope

Spiegelworld is looking for an experienced Bar Manager to lead a high-energy bar team at Superfrico in Atlantic City. The Bar Manager will direct and work with the beverage management team and employees to successfully execute Spiegelworld's beverage program. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit and strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance. This role reports to the restaurant General Manager, under the mentorship of our Executive Beverage Director.

Primary Job Duties

• Oversee the restaurant's beverage revenue including cost, labor, inventory, expenses and profitability.
• Responsible for the administration of beverage programs to uphold company image and drive quality guest experiences.
• Mentors Assistant Bar Managers and Lead Mixologists in their development and understanding of beverage operations.
• Oversees the implementation of operational systems such as well set up guides, batching recipes, and opening/closing checklists in collaboration with Assistant Bar Manager and Lead Mixologist.
• Leads strategic beverage training for all bartenders with a focus on consistency, employee engagement and retention.
• Executes competitive market analysis to align with seasonal cocktail menu changes.
• Leads cocktail development initiatives.
• Participation and input towards marketing activities with General Manager and Director of Marketing.
• Participates in the menu development of new concepts and expansion of current brands.
• Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
• Other duties assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years working in a high-end bar with restaurant service and at least 3 years managing people. Experience in mixology, batch cocktails, nightlife markets is a plus.
• Knowledge and managing union employees are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED. A bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Hands-on experience and working knowledge of POS and bar management software.
• Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
• Exceptional interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
• Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol
• Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours. Able to lift or carry up to 50lbs.
• Proven people management, motivation, and development skills to be an inspirational leader to your team.
• Well-developed interest in beverages, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients to inform guests and staff.
• Passion for ensuring you and your team deliver the highest standards consistently and ensuring that the guest is at the center of the experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment that creates memorable moments.
• Exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude and a can-do approach to any request.
• Able to work in an immersive environment with loud music and flashing lights.
• Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and have valid work authorization for the US
