BPO Strategic Sourcing Leader

Your Role and Responsibilities
The BPO Strategic Sourcing leader has the following key areas of accountability – The Leader will be part of the Procurement BPO Global Leadership team and will be instrumental in leading the team of Global Category Leaders (GCLs) to deliver exceptional client outcomes through world-class consultative skills and strategic sourcing capabilities. This leader is accountable for meeting the contractual commitments to our customers in terms of committed savings through the sourcing projects.

This role works cross functionally across multiple teams in IBM to ensure we bring the best of solutions to our customers in terms of best practices procurement expertise and consulting to deliver best in class category strategies and deal execution to our customers.

This role includes the following core responsibilities: 1. Delivering the services to the BPO Customers as per contractual commitments in terms of spend managed and savings delivered. 2. Increase the penetration of strategic sourcing spend under management with our base accounts. 3. Provide support for the Sales/ Practice team in terms of showcasing IBM’s Sourcing capabilities for prospects 4. Contribute to margin improvement & manage the cost 5. Create a high-performance culture and 6. Collaborate with the IBM internal strategic sourcing team

Reports directly to Global Procurement BPO Leader with the Global Category leaders as the direct reports and the regional category leaders Sourcing managers across geographies as dotted line reports.

Delivering the services to the BPO Customers as per contractual commitments in terms of spend managed and savings delivered:

• Works with the Client executives Geo leaders Account Delivery project Executives and Sourcing managers to ensure the expected Spend under management is in line if not exceeding the contractual commitments across categories.
• Monitor the large deals and coach the GCLs Sourcing managers and the buyers.
• Deliver the sourcing savings commitments to the customers.

Increase the penetration of strategic sourcing spend under management with our base accounts

• Identify the opportunities for expanding the scope in terms of strategic sourcing.
• Provide proactive consultative value propositions to the existing clients where strategic sourcing is not in scope or partially in scope thus increase the sourcing spend under management.
• Facilitate client conversations to convert the opportunity to revenue for IBM.

Provide support for the sales/ Practice team in terms of showcasing IBM’s Sourcing capabilities for prospects.

• Engage in Sales pursuits to demonstrate IBM’s category and subject matter expertise.
• Assess the as-is maturity of Client’s sourcing strategy and execution and build the transformation roadmap at a category level along with the other GCLs.
• Will be responsible for the strategic sourcing solution review and sign off along with other delivery stakeholders

Contribute to margin improvement & manage the cost.

• Review the various contractual provisions in terms of gain sharing to improve margins
• Work closely with the Geo Leads/ Delivery Project Executives to engage the GCLs to deliver the committed value to the customers.
• Closely monitor and ensure the Billable/ Chargeable utilization targets of the GCL team is met.

Create a high performance culture.

• Establish performance criteria assign roles and responsibilities etc.
• Build and manage the talent pipeline for the GCLs & RCLs.
• Teaches in role using live experiences to raise level.

Collaborate with the IBM internal strategic sourcing team.

• Partner with IBM’s internal Strategic sourcing team to facilitate two-way flow of best practices to increase savings for the corporation and customers.
• Identify ways to strengthen overall sourcing capabilities and improve flexibility in leveraging both internal procurement and BPO resources to maximize impact.

Actively engages regularly with:

• Customer executives including the CPOs Shared services leaders Transformation leaders Category leaders and more.
• Business unit and functional executives up through Band A.
• Procurement BPO Geo leaders Delivery center leaders Solution Offering Practice leaders and teams

Example KPIs for the role include:
