About the Role:
We are looking for a driven Business Development Associate to increase company revenue by identifying profitable business opportunities with industry application developers and by developing long-term application business growth strategies for the Platform Science Marketplace. The responsibilities of the Business Development Associate include analyzing and transacting a variety of often complex partnership deals with application developers in the transportation industry. To be successful, you should be persuasive and have strong business acumen. Ultimately, an exceptional candidate should be adept at negotiating profitable business deals as well as demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
What You'll Do:
- Build solid relationships with partners, vendors, and customers, as well as internal legal, sales, product, and support teams.
- Work effectively with Product and Engineering teams to evaluate ideal integration strategies and technical lift.
- Negotiate agreements with application developers/partners using standard agreements where possible and work effectively with partners and legal teams on agreement modifications.
- Work closely with Partner Success Management to manage opportunities through the onboarding process and ongoing partner management.
- Present partner opportunities to customers and Platform Science company management.
- 2-4 years experience in marketing/sales or supplier/vendor operations and recommending go-to-market strategies for partner offerings.
- 2-4 years performing discovery and analysis of new business opportunities, evaluating a strategic, business, and technical fit for our Marketplace offerings.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field; a master's degree is advantageous.
- Experience in the telematics and the transportation industry along with knowledge of industry business practices. Knowledge of mobile applications and SaaS solutions is a plus.
- 2-4 years of proven business development, sales, or marketing experience.
- Experience in the area of IoT and/or transportation (OTR, LTL, Fuel Management, TMS, etc.) is a plus.
- Proficient in all macOS, Microsoft Office, and Google applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills and a creative thinker.
- Exceptional leadership, management skills, and a proven deal closer.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with internal departments and external parties.
- Strong business acumen.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
