Job Title: Business Development Executive

Business Area / Department: Global Strategic Sales

Reporting to: GSS Head of Business Development

Directly responsible for: A dotted line report into GSS Regional Leads

Organisational Overview

Within Atos, major client opportunities are managed by the Global Strategic Sales (GSS) team.

Working across all regional business units, the team comprises over 100 skilled sales and presales professionals tasked with identifying and developing our most strategic client engagements.

This is a critical client-facing function, and it offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, rewarding and challenging environment.

Skills within the team focus primarily on the core professions of business development, sales, bid management and engagement management. These core teams draw upon further expertise across the business to develop propositions that deliver value for our clients.

GSS is the home of excellence for sales execution and its team members either already possess an established successful track record in large/complex deals or show promise for outstanding talent in this area.

The focus for Business Development is to identify, develop and qualify new business opportunities that supports the business growth ambition.

GSS Business Development Executives focus on large / strategic sales opportunities and are tasked with producing exceptional standards of deal-execution.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for the Business Development Executive involve:
• Be accountable for developing robust qualified pipeline of new business opportunities in a given territory/scope and achieve or exceed set targets.
• Create, develop and nurture enduring relationships at CXO level.
• Create a Business Development plan for each Business Development target scope.
• Ensure early and effective qualification of opportunities to ensure efficient use of resources.
• To be able to assemble and lead teams inside Atos to help demonstrate the depth and capability in Atos and the differentiation Atos can provide on every opportunity.
• Identify, qualify and develop large / strategic business opportunities with long sales cycles and complex stakeholder maps.
• Understand competitive environment and develop strategies to outperform the competition.
• Establish comprehensive view of industry, competitors and other relevant industries.
• Understand and be able to articulate customer's key business objectives and challenges and be able to match Atos solutions required to support objectives and solve challenges at C level to win business.
• Ability to inform, motivate and inspire others to succeed.
• Leads by example.
• Establishes a winning spirit in deal team.
• Effectively manages internal stakeholders across both Industry/GBU/Group Exec.
• Contribution to ongoing development of best-practice and innovative sales excellence.

Successful applicants will:

- Demonstrate a consistent and successful track record in development of large and complex opportunities (typically 50M€ and above).

- Possess relevant and up to date knowledge of the market and competition.

- Have experience of working within complex matrix organizations.

- Have demonstrated outstanding success in a related role and be committed to a future career in Business Development.

- Have demonstrated outstanding acumen and success in smaller/less complex sales opportunities and are looking to take a significant step in their sales career.

- A good understanding of sales strategies and their development.

- Good team-leadership qualities.

- Strong commercial awareness.

- Creative thinking and solution management.

- Focus of deal generation, shaping and qualification.

- Experience of operating within formal and informal procurement processes.

- Very high standards of written and verbal communication.

- Strategic & Consultative selling skills.

- Outstanding presentation skills - both personally and coaching the team (junior and senior actors on the team).

- Tenacious, persistent and determined.
