Education
- Bachelor's Degree
- Economics, Data Science, MIS, Computer Science, or a related analytical field a plus
- Master's Degree, Ph.D., or progress toward Masters/Ph.D. is also a plus.
- Sales, Account Management, Business Development, Product Development or Product Strategy
- Manager responsibilities within Customer and/ or Sales function of a utility or related industry
- Project Management or related responsibilities
- Financial analysis and business case development
- Undergraduate or master's degree or have 5 - 10 years of work experience after completing your undergraduate degree
- Self-Starter
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Demonstrated passion for the energy and utilities industries
- Expereince working directly with customers and partners; including structuring and negotiating relationship framework
- Zeal for technology innovation, business transformation and product development
- Understanding of utility operations at Southern Company or other large, regulated entities.
- Sound judgment skills to understand priority projects and their impact to the organization's goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and orally) to build consensus around abstract and sometimes complex concepts
- Ability to take full ownership of projects and lead them to successful delivery
In this role you will:
- Contribute to the management of Southern Co,'s relationship with Energy Impact Partners, including:
- Participating in Council Days and Working Groups
- Matching Portfolio Company solutions with operating company and end customer problems
- Monitoring portfolio company progress and reporting on that progress to Southern Co. leadership and Southern Co. business partners
- Collating EIP updates, industry updates, and market intelligence to contribute to case studies, white-papers and research briefs
- Creating internal and external communications (copywriting, powerpoint graphics)
- Perform due diligence, including financial and feasibility evaluation
- Business Case Development for Portfolio Company pilots and programs
- Participate and lead cross-company working teams
- Engage with end-customers around next generation technology
- Support other customer facing engagements as partnership and solution "broker"
- Monitor the evolving landscape for new energy technologies, including but not limited to electric transportation, distributed energy resources (DERs), digital technologies and decarbonization and sustainability.
