Business Info Analyst II - Government Business Division

Location: This position will work a hybrid model of at least one day a week in office. The ideal candidate will live in an eastern or central time zone area within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

*The Business Info Analyst II schedule will work 8 AM to 5 PM EST or CST*

The Business Info Analyst II is responsible for analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations on data related to multiple, varied business metrics.

How you will make an impact:

  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, makes necessary recommendations, and develops ad hoc reports as needed.
  • May require taking business issues and devising the best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
  • Models prospective medical cost savings, reports actual cost savings, and analyzes trends to find drivers of health care costs.
  • Presents and explains trends to medical director and local market leadership with commentary on shifts in both dollars and quantities to understand what drives health care costs.
  • Writes SQL code to mine healthcare data from company warehouses, uses Excel data cubes and other dashboards, and develops algorithms to produce financial models.
  • Prepares summary findings and observations to give direction to the local market.
  • Responsible for taking data and making it answer questions and tell a story.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years related operational and/or data analysis experience, experience in database structures, and standard query and reporting tools; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience in health economics, data analysis, healthcare, or finance is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and root cause analysis abilities are highly preferred.
  • Experience with SQL code, relational databases, and knowledge of query tools is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience with the presentation of analyses is preferred.
