We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to help define and stabilize the data model for the company’s wealth of data. This is a key position reporting into the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications, working to expand on Bevi’s organizational data management practices and centralized reporting strategy. This role will act as a liaison between the Data Management team and executives and other business unit leaders at Bevi, and will be responsible for taking ownership of specific segments of the organizational data model, from data ingestion and modeling all the way through to exposure to through Business Intelligence tools and report publishing.

This role will automate data collection from new and existing business systems to minimize manual one-off, ad-hoc analyses, and will focus on building the foundations for making proactive business decisions. Our goal is to be able to make observations and recommendations to supply chain, customer service, sales, and other business units (e.g. “direct more inventory to the west coast”, “SLA’s for support requests are consistently close to being breached”, “run a promotion on overstocked lemon concentrate”, ““add more installation technicians in Texas”) with confidence and regularity.

What you will do:

  • Build reports and develop dashboards to monitor end-to-end business operations, including Order Management, Customer Support, Supply Chain, Sales, and Product Performance utilizing Business Intelligence (Looker) and Integration tools and Excel
  • Work with business stakeholders to clearly define and document reporting requirements and KPI’s to enable data-driven decisions
  • Build and manage data flows from business systems (e.g. Zendesk, Salesforce, NetSuite, eCommerce, Manufacturing) leveraging APIs and iPaaS platforms; monitor data quality, accuracy, and consistency; simplify and automate data extraction, transformation, and load activities wherever possible
  • Leverage SQL to clean, transform, and analyze data and to build data models and corresponding automations that support business processes and decision making
  • Develop and maintain a data model across all systems within Data Warehouse (Snowflake) that can support measures and variables necessary for downstream analysis; to be considered central source of data for all business reporting needs
  • Contribute to development and execution of an organization-wide data quality projects
  • Assist in establishing formal request intake and delivery processes, including prioritization, level of effort scoping, and communication best practices, enabling team to scale
  • Be scrappy and practical, and function in an environment where there’s never enough data, and where it’s never clean enough; be capable of combining quantitative analysis with qualitative insights to make good decisions even when quantitative data is lacking

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, operations research, industrial engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience and proven track record of success in data management and leading reporting and business insight initiatives
  • A high-level of emotional intelligence, and an ability to work with and influence a diverse set of internal stakeholders within fast moving start-up culture
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Nested formulas, etc.)
  • Experience with modern BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Domo, Qlik, etc.)
  • An ability to understand business process and requirements and translate them into actionable and reportable metrics
  • Adept at displaying complex quantitative information in a clean and intuitive format to business users
  • An ability to cleanse and link complicated and disparate data sets from multiple sources
  • Experience with iPaaS platforms (Workato, Dell Boomi, integrator.io, JitterBit, etc.) a plus
  • Intermediate programming skills (Python preferred) a plus
  • Experience with Looker and LookML a plus
  • Experience with Zendesk, Salesforce, and / or NetSuite a plus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
