Job Description
The Business Solutions Manager will be part of our Film & TV Studios Technical Operations group and will report into the Studio Technology Solutions team. In this role, the Business Solutions Manager will partner and engage with various functional and technology stakeholders on technology initiatives for our Universal Pictures International (UPI) business. Business support areas will include, but not necessarily be limited to, Sales, Theatrical Distribution and Finance.
The candidate will manage and support UPI teams leveraging their functional and technology expertise in project management, the software development lifecycle and general business application support tobe a key liaison with these business groups. In this role, the candidate will also work across our Operations and Technology teams that support business and technology areas, and this includes partnering across our technology organisations with our Product, Engineering and Cyber teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage with a broad range of film business users to drive business requirements, analyse data and processes, and create work products that lead to the implementation of technical solutions.
- Manage and facilitate technology requests for supported business groups across UPI.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology partners for the roadmap planning, analysis, requirements and prioritisation of product features.
- Partner and collaborate across our Enterprise: Product, Engineering, Cyber and Project Management teams on implementing technical solutions to support our film business.
- Managing 3rd party solution providers to ensure platforms are being maintained and managed to meet UPI business needs.
- Manage and support projects across UPI, these could include the following:
- Projects for implementing and/or developing new solutions, or supporting and enhancing existing systems.
- Maintenance projects for technology upgrades, infrastructure migrations, etc.
- Manage the budgets and project finances for the projects assigned, and support resource planning.
- Manage scope and estimates, and review proposals and statements of work as needed.
- Manage the business stakeholder communication across projects / initiatives.
- Serve as the escalation point for the day-to-day operational activities across the landscape of solutions utilised by the business.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project or program management.
- Minimum 8 years of experience developing technology solutions to address business needs, applying software disciplines, with a strong understanding of software development.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in application production support, change management processes and have a structured approach to troubleshooting issues and bug fixes.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with data and analytics tools and platforms.
- Good overall understanding of technology, including but not limited to system architecture, infrastructure, integration, software development processes, and security technologies.
- Strong ability to perform analysis of small to medium complex business, workflow, and technology issues to support decision-making.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to utilise technology to create innovative solutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Global Media & Entertainment industry.
- Travel mobility.
- Experience of Theatrical Distribution business and solutions.
- Experience with the broader film media industry with an understanding of the digital landscape as well as the drivers influencing consumer behaviors.
- Experience with finance platforms/ERP, and related reporting tools.
- Demonstrate ability to work under pressure & to tight deadlines.
- Be a dynamic team player, but also able to work with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate high level of personal responsibility & integrity.
- Demonstrate excellent time-management skills & results driven focus.
- Understand how to share information effectively in a cross-functional environment.
