C# Software Engineer

We are ITRS Uptrends: a SaaS based monitoring platform that provides our customers insight into the uptime and load times of their websites and servers. ITRS Uptrends’ headquarters are in Alphen aan den Rijn, the Netherlands. We also have offices in London, Manila and NYC. The Uptrends team consists of about 40 people, while ITRS Group employs a total of 370 people. 

Scope of Role

In your daily tasks as a C# Software Engineer, you’re responsible for managing the source code of the Uptrends product. You’ll work in a small team, in close collaboration with your fellow team members. The team is using an Agile methodology based on Scrum. 

Since Uptrends is a SaaS product operated by the same team, you’ll help operate the product. This includes assisting in deployments, and troubleshooting in cases of problems that cannot be resolved by the operations team.

You'll partner with different teams, both within Uptrends and external. This is a full-time (32-40 hours) position based at our Alphen aan den Rijn office, with a balanced blend of on-site and remote work flexibility.

As a C# Software Engineer, you will:

• Work with the team in developing and maintaining software. 
• Translate functional requirements into detailed specifications and source code. 
• Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and communicate ideas/solutions to design challenges. 
• Deliver implementations following coding standards and conventions. 
• Write maintainable, testable, and performant code for the SaaS product. 
• Participate in Agile development activities (e.g. daily stand-ups, sprint planning, dev demo & test case planning, sprint retrospectives) by understanding and practicing Agile methodologies and techniques.
• Deploy to production in a 3-weekly release schedule. 
• Operate the product by conducting deployments and troubleshooting. 

• At least 3+ years of experience with the Microsoft stack (SQL Server, .NET, C#, MVC), JavaScript/TypeScript/Vue.js for the frontend, and TeamCity and Octopus Deploy.
• You have good communication skills – both written and verbal. 

• Experience participating in team meetings including grooming sessions, project planning, and other aspects of the product development lifecycle. 
• It is important for you to build professional, high-quality software. 
• You have a relevant HBO/WO degree.
