Mission of the Position
We are looking for talented team members to be a part of a dynamic team looking to push boundaries, innovate, and are passionate about being a part of the transformation from traditional powertrains to eMobility.
The CAD Engineer is responsible for the detailed design of products for new customer and/or internal product developments, following the defined product concept for both new and modified eDrive products. Creation and modification of 3D CAD and 2D layouts to achieve product, system and component specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, development, and problem resolution for new and existing eDrive products.
- Ensure the various system components meet cascaded system specifications.
- Utilizes and/or leverages computer aided engineering (CAE) methodologies and results to drive the design of the various system components.
- Responsible for on time design release of the system component (s), throughout the product development cycle, including, but not limited to acquisition, serial development, and production support.
- Tracks design status, reports progress, and escalates issues/delays to project development team.
- Create sectional and 3D layouts of conceptual designs for operating principles and concept explanations.
- Responsible for documentation of detailed design for prototype, production components, and systems to achieve product specifications.
- Appropriate application of CAD methodology, GD&T standards, and process capable tolerancing techniques within the company and customer released standards.
- Drive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce cost.
- Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in 3D CAD, 2D layouts and GD&T required.
- High level of analytical ability, understand of engineering theory and principles of design.
- Some knowledge of electrified products helpful, but not required.
Work Environment
Office environment; 10% travel required.
While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
