Job Description

The Carpenter/Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing various carpentry and maintenance functions that are necessary to maintain and enhance the value of our apartment community. The carpenter/maintenance technician ensures that all carpentry and maintenance issues are handled promptly and completed in a timely manner, in keeping with our high standards. Job Duties: β€’ Prepare vacant units for move-in. β€’ Respond, as directed, promptly and professionally to work order requests both during business hours and after hours. β€’ Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current residents to promote a quality living experience for all residents. β€’ Perform preventive maintenance and repairs in the areas of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, safety and appliances. β€’ Respond, as needed, to emergency work orders β€’ Perform other duties as assigned. Experience and Qualifications: β€’ Prefer a minimum 1 year of previous experience in general construction/carpentry, property management maintenance, other building maintenance or related trade is required. β€’ HVAC, plumbing, drywall, electrical, and appliance experience. β€’ Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with a "customer service" attitude. β€’ Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed uniform policy. β€’ Must provide basic hand and power tools. Additional Requirements: β€’ High School diploma or equivalent. β€’ Ability to read, write and understand English. β€’ Must have a valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance β€’ Must be reachable via phone or pager, except during approved time off. β€’ Must be able to work evenings and weekend hours and be available for on call status. β€’ Must live within 30 minutes of the apartment community. β€’ Background check and pre-employment drug test required.
