DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Completes diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on chassis products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Chassis Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Avondale, AZ). will make an impact in the following ways:

This is a Field Service Role ; 2nd Shift (2pm-11:30 pm)

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Intermediate):

  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools Disassemble,
  • Clean and inspect chassis and /or chassis components
  • Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of chassis and chassis components
  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of chassis repair plans in the workshop
  • Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Technician (Preferred). Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution. Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with chassis products

QUALIFICATIONS

This is primarily a field service role with occasional in shop duties.

This role operates on a second shift working evenings.

Occasional weekend work may be required.

This role specifically pertains to completing brake repairs and chassis lube.

DOT

  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • 3 years driving experience
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
