General Summary:
This is the second level of a three-level job family. This position is primarily responsible for providing extensive system and data (automated and manual) processes, testing and project support for medium to large sized functional and/or cross-functional client data analysis and reporting initiatives. The role is also responsible for analyzing lost time data to produce reporting and analysis packages that help National Client Group (NCG) customers gain insight into their disability and absence experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs/Leads the effort to identify, research and resolve complex client data analysis and reporting problems.
- Ensures that a variety of solutions are analyzed and the appropriate solution is implemented.
- Ensures that production systems/processes are being monitored.
- Ensures that appropriate level of analysis has been conducted to develop requirements. Partners with other functional areas and IT to help prioritize and implement system change requests.
- Actively participates in and partners with others on requirements elicitation sessions and other phases of the system development life cycle.
- Ensures that all the system development/enhancement work undertaken keeps the customer (end user) in mind.
- Support the documentation for the system and/or data analysis and reporting processes the business area owns/supports is comprehensive and adequately maintained.
- Assesses technical/process impact of making complex business changes.
- Manage testing for medium initiatives, and with IT partners, ensuring testing is comprehensive in order to have high quality and minimize defects.
- Ensures that there is strong partnership and collaboration within the functional area and cross-functionally with other functional areas and IT.
- Looks for ways to improve existing processes that the functional area owns/supports or one that spans multiple functional areas.
- Functions as a member of the business team to provide a strategic approach to the development of lost time reporting packages for NCG clients
- Serves as resource for extracting, maintaining and storing Level 1 and Level 2 and basic H&P reporting packages
- Implements tools and develops techniques (technical solutions) for measuring and reporting metrics for assigned areas: supports team in developing and running weekly, monthly and annual reports.
- Contributes to support for databases of performance metrics
- Supports the development of business trend analysis and monitoring for key operating metrics
- Provide support for operational and ad hoc client data analysis as well as customized reports for specific audiences.
- May train or mentor junior team members.
- Participation in departmental projects as needed
- May perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications
- Minimum educational requirement of a BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience
- Preferred experience as a Client Reporting Analyst I with 3+ years in reporting & analytics or other related area
- Extensive business knowledge of the systems and/or processes the functional unit owns or supports
- Extensive knowledge of the customers the functional area supports and the processes they follow
- Demonstrated understanding of lost time data
- Proficient in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, QlikView, Tableau
- Ability to learn data mining/query tools and techniques
- Possesses critical thinking skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly attentive to details
- Works well under pressure, managing multiple/changing priorities within tight deadlines
- Interacts and communicates effectively with internal and external partners
- Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated solid presentation/facilitation skills
- Demonstrated strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening), with ability to explain complex data
- Self-starter, has personal initiative to set goals and task that stretch abilities and follow through on them
