Clinical Nurse Specialist

• Position will focus on trach patients throughout entire hospital
• Provide staff education and daily patient consultations 
• Collaborate with physicians and staff educators 
• Participate in systemwide and BJH trach committees
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed
• Shift 4–10s or 5–8s Monday–Friday
• 7A–8A start time
• No weekends or holidays
• Must have CNS certification

The Labor and Delivery department at Barnes–Jewish Hospital is a 23–bed unit with spacious labor, delivery, and recovery suites which adds to the soothing, safe and exceptional patient experience.

Role Purpose

Utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized area of nursing to diagnose, prescribe, and treat patients within the scope of a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s) to support a designated clinical service.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care and consultation in the management of patient care.
• Improves the quality of health care by providing educational services to patients, families, community and health care professionals.
• Educates, develops and supports clinical practice.
• Conducts scientific investigation and research.
