Job Description
BJC HealthCare is hiring a Clinical Pathways Specialist bachelor's level position in nursing, PA or equivalent to create standardized clinical pathways and clinical protocols to ensure quality improvement.
Join this strategic team in creating standardized clinical decision work-flows as a resource for physicians to support excellent patient care. Partner with an interdisciplinary team throughout the system to create logical steps in the work-flow.
Local hybrid role based on department needs. Flexible 40 hours/week.
10 years of Clinical experience highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
The clinical pathways builder role is designed for advanced practice clinicians or nurses with strong clinical background. The builder partners with general and specialty physicians as well as pharmacists, EMR experts, and other individuals to develop clinical decision support and pathways for ambulatory, ED, inpatient and/or surgical clinical conditions. The builders lead multi-disciplinary teams to discuss both medicine and operational workflows to enable build of high value pathways that improve patient care.
Responsibilities
* Applies clinical expertise and works with enterprise-wide multidisciplinary teams (including but not limited to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, Epic1 analysts) to build and implement clinical pathways in various settings of clinical care across the BJC system.
* Harmonizes variability in clinical care and operational practices to improve quality and efficiency of care across the system.
* Drives approval processes and discussions with high-impact enterprise-wide clinical leadership groups to navigate complex approval structures.
* Communicates and implements new clinical pathways, and drives continuous improvement work on existing pathways, utilizing principles of change management and high reliability to enable acceptance of processes by end-users and ongoing support to sustain utilization.
* Researches evidence-based best clinical practices and leverages learnings to develop care pathways for implementation across the BJC system.
