BASIC PURPOSE

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, upkeep and operation of both physical and cloud servers and associated applications in an enterprise environment. They are involved in troubleshooting and problem resolution and will diagnose and resolve problems quickly. The individual should be able to communicate technical concerns and solutions to their team and provide workable solutions. They are also responsible for the installing and upgrading software, installing, and rebuilding existing servers and will have opportunities to deploy server infrastructure as code in a cloud environment. This technical role includes duties across the entire server lifecycle and is key to providing stable platforms that meet the enterprise requirements for performance.

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be joining a collaborative work environment with an emphasis on employee development, work life balance and employee recognition. PRIMARTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Problem investigation, troubleshooting and resolution
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvement opportunities where applicable
  • Maintain security standards, configuration compliance, patch management
  • Configure and support Azure cloud environment as well as on premise environment
  • Manage system infrastructure including Windows O/S, SQL Server, IIS and other software and hardware
  • Monitor systems and respond quickly to any usability concerns
  • Upgrade systems as needed
  • Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system
  • Perform other duties as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS preferred. (Note: directly related job experience and/or a related business degree can be substituted in lieu of degree requirement)
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Systems and/or Technology Delivery services including Windows Server Administration
  • 2+ years of experience with Azure Cloud solutions
  • Preferred knowledge of technologies: Public and private cloud technologies (Azure, VMware), Microsoft Technology (Windows, Active Directory, GPO, SQLServer, SCCM), Network Management (Cisco), Scripting languages (PowerShell), Basic knowledge of networking concepts
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to learn new information in a timely manner
  • Support a 24/7 systems environment including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
