Cloud Security Engineer

We are currently seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for administrative, technical, and professional work within the technology function. This position is responsible for network management and cloud connectivity, cloud architecture and service implementation, O365 management, user and platform security in our cloud environment, tier 4 end-user support, incident response, and cloud-focused project work.

Essential functions of the role:

Cloud Security

• Ensure that all new and existing cloud services are reviewed and implemented according to security best practices for the cloud
• Ensure that user access to the bank's cloud environment is managed appropriately via role-based access controls
• Maintain security logging and alerting pertaining to cloud resources and work with the bank's security team to identity and remediate security issues
• Lead the daily operating activities and performance management of the bank's cloud environment, including service management, cloud feature enhancements, and performance upgrades
• Architect cloud solutions to ensure reliable operation
• Review cloud integrations and work with applicable teams to develop best practices for integrations with cloud services
• Liaise with third party application vendors and support as needed
• Lead architecture and management of the bank's O365 environment
• Lead project activities and root cause analysis related to the bank's cloud environment

Cloud Platform Management and Architecture

• Lead the daily operating activities and performance management of the bank's cloud environment, including service management, cloud feature enhancements, and performance upgrades
• Architect cloud solutions to ensure reliable operation
• Review cloud integrations and work with applicable teams to develop best practices for integrations with cloud services
• Liaise with third party application vendors and support as needed
• Lead architecture and management of the bank's O365 environment
• Lead project activities and root cause analysis related to the bank's cloud environment

Network Management and Architecture

• Architect network solutions to ensure reliable operation
• Monitor network performance and connectivity to the bank's cloud environment
• Provide network performance reporting and statistics
• Work with engineers to ensure network connectivity of to the bank's cloud platform in both production and disaster recovery environments
• Troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues as needed
• Lead the architecture and planning of upgrades to ensure optimal performance and connectivity to cloud services
• Develop proactive, long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future technology needs
• Participate in network security solutions; lead collaboration efforts with other network and security personnel to ensure efficient operation of the company's computing environment

Incident Response

• Lead performance incident response teams
• Lead response reviews
• Ensure the necessary documentation is updated following performance incidents

Tier 4 End User Support

• Serve as top tier escalation for the network team to perform complex analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of technical issues for end users
• Design, recommend, and implement solutions
• Ensure all phases of resolution are documented including testing, best solutions, and related follow up communication

Other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility of the job

Requirements

• College Degree or level of education that, together with industry experience, enables the applicant to meet the job requirements
• Extensive knowledge of the following technologies is required: Cloud platform architecture, design, and operations (Microsoft Azure preferred), extensive knowledge of identity management controls, full range of layer 1-7 technologies and protocols (advanced layer2; redundancy protocols, BGP, IGMP, OSPF, multicast, and other routing protocols), TCP/IP protocol suite, DNS, IP space management, Cisco, VPN and Internet Security experience, switches, routers, firewalls (Palo Alto is a plus), load balancer, node management and network flow experience
• Familiarity with the following technologies is preferred: VMware, Hypervisor
