Job Description

Degan Construction is seeking motivated and hardworking laborers to join our Coatings Team. This role involves working in large industrial environments to prepare and apply high-performance epoxy coatings on concrete floors and other surfaces. Responsibilities include surface preparation through grinding or shot blasting, mixing and applying epoxy materials, and ensuring quality control throughout the process. Work may take place in active industrial facilities, requiring strict attention to safety and cleanliness. Working possible night shifts, weekends, 8-10 hour shifts, or overtime depending on project. Hours:Hours dependent on project. Additionally, overtime may be required depending on project. Pay Range:$22+/hr Responsibilities: • Install and apply epoxy and other resinous flooring systems with attention to detail and quality standards • Ensure safe work practices at all times, including proper use of PPE and adherence to site-specific safety protocols • Perform work inside large industrial facilities, including navigating around active equipment and machinery • Prep surfaces for coating applications, including cleaning, grinding, and shot blasting • Apply coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment (plural component equipment knowledge a plus) • Assist with the setup and takedown of jobsite containment and ventilation systems • Work in confined spaces as needed such as tanks, vaults, and below-grade structures in compliance with entry procedure • Perform material handling duties including mixing, pouring, and transporting coating materials • Follow detailed instructions and quality control standards to ensure proper coverage, cure time, and thickness • Regularly walk, stand, and lift materials for extended periods in physically demanding environments • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently • Collaborate with crew members to complete projects on time and within scope • Maintain clean and organized work areas during and after job completion Physical Requirements: • Will work in industrial building with a lot of walking • May work in confined spaces as needed (project dependent) • Frequently will climb stairs, ladders, etc. • Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday • Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis • Ability to lift and move up to 80 pounds of materials/equipment on a regular basis • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.) • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures All candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and E-Verify.
