Overview
The Barrie Company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial construction, with a focus on project management, cost control, scheduling, and effective communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects from concept to closeout, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
General Responsibilities
• Coordinate all aspects of construction projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project development.
• Utilize construction management software such as Prolog and Civil 3D for project tracking and documentation.
• Prepare project schedules and budgets, adjusting as necessary based on project needs.
• Facilitate communication among team members and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
• Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Project Planning and Execution:
• Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Monitor and supervise all construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project goals.
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment required for construction activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Cost Management:
• Oversee cost estimating, budgeting, and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project financial performance.
• Conduct regular cost analysis and report on budget variances.
Scheduling:
• Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
• Proactively identify and address potential scheduling conflicts or delays.
• Implement strategies to expedite the construction process without compromising quality.
Communication:
• Facilitate clear and effective communication among project stakeholders, including team members, clients, and subcontractors.
• Provide regular project updates, status reports, and risk assessments to senior management.
• Resolve conflicts promptly and ensure that all parties are well-informed throughout the project.
Design Management:
• Coordinate with architects and design teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the construction process.
• Evaluate and provide input on design feasibility, constructability, and value engineering.
Contracts, RFIs, and Submittals:
• Manage the preparation and execution of contracts with the client and contractors / consultants.
• Oversee the Request for Information (RFI) process and ensure timely resolution of queries.
• Oversee the submittals process, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
Experience
• Minimum of 5-year's experience in construction project management.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Proficient in project scheduling software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, RFIs, and submittals processes.
• Strong skills in project coordination with a focus on delivering successful outcomes.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding of construction site operations.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam for document management and collaboration is preferred.
• Experience with construction management software tools such as Prolog or Civil 3D is advantageous.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
