Overview
Ketchum is looking for a Data, Analytics & Research Consultant!
Ketchum has the largest research and analytics team in the industry, fluent in the various streams of communications measurement and strategic research. From traditional media analysis, digital analytics/SEO, quantitative and qualitative primary methodologies (e.g., surveys, focus groups), to audience insights, we are meeting the needs of clients with data-driven insights. Ketchum is set apart by our ability to understand that it’s not about being data-rich, but instead being data-smart.
About the Job
This position will provide strategic, creative, and intellectually curious analytics enthusiasts the opportunity to learn all aspects of data and research within the public relations and communications industry. In this role, you’ll assist your team with projects from inception to the presentation of results under the supervision of a seasoned analytics manager. You’ll work closely with account teams across the globe, and clients across many different industries including Food, Financial, and Healthcare, to understand impact and provide guidance in the creation of data-driven strategies and tactics.
Your day-to-day:Â Â

- Determine communications results and impact across channels, such as paid media, social media, earned media, influencer, website, and search
- Support primary research projects (quantitative and qualitative) and secondary research with support from senior staff
- Leverage a variety of tools and technology to analyze and deliver clear and concise insights around audience behaviors, social and earned media conversation drivers, identifying relevant influencers, etc.
- Analyze multi-channel data sets such as social and web analytics to draw conclusions that help improve creative and activation strategy
- Track a customer or stakeholder journey from awareness to conversion through data
- Engage and communicate with your direct manager and project managers on task progress
- Bring your unique self and insights to your projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree helpful or evidence of certifications/courses in the data analytics or communications/PR fields
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related data, analytics and research experience; media measurement experience helpful
- A team mentality and desire to collaborate with co-workers across multiple geographies
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, able to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Ability to anticipate next steps and take proactive action to move projects along
- Varied experience in understanding or supporting primary and secondary research projects
- Interest in learning new research tools and methods
- Experience in Microsoft tools, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Interest or expertise in the following a plus:
- Writing experience, particularly in understanding data and insights
- Website analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe AnalyticsÂ
- Social media measurement and social media monitoring tools, such as Brandwatch, Talkwalker, etc.
- Search engine optimization or search engine marketing
- Link building/tracking such as UTMs
- Data visualization including Tableau or Google Data Studio or PowerBI
- Understanding website tagging or pixel tracking
- Writing and building questionnaires for publicity or market research purposes Â
- Advanced excel skills such as pivot tables, vlookups or formulasÂ
- Secondary audience insights databases, such as YouGov, Resonate, Canvas8, comScore, Quid, GWI
- Social media analytics - such as Meta Business Manager and Twitter Analytics
- Influencer Identification tools such as Onalytica, Tagger, TapInfluence or Traackr
- HTML, Java, R, Python, SQL or similar language coding
- Python, SPSS, Stata, SAS, R or similar statistical package capabilities
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
