Description
You’ll be tasked with ideating, writing and publishing all kinds of written copy and content across our marketing activities. You’ll be equally as comfortable writing long-form articles and educational guides, as you are at writing attention-grabbing headlines, ads and social copy.
You’ll work closely with our Demand Generation, Brand, Web, Commercial and Product Marketing teams to get our voice heard loud and clear, make us stand out from our competitors, and explain exactly what TrueLayer does and how it supports our customers.
Every day at TrueLayer is different. Your tasks may include transforming a content strategist's brief into a fresh landing page, composing emails and social media text for a forthcoming campaign, or creating your own proposals for content aimed at engaging readers and encouraging customer conversion.
You’ll thrive turning the complexities of our financial infrastructure into simple soundbites and clear educational guides that everyone can understand. You’ll know when to be sensible and sensitive and when to be scintillating and show-stopping. As our Content Writer, you will:
- Write content across various formats, including articles, guides, reports, case studies, email, social media, paid ads, event content, landing pages and web pages.
- Make sure we are getting the most out of every piece of content – by reusing and repurposing long-form content into different formats and for different channels.
- Pitch ideas for new content to the wider marketing team and articulate why we have to create that piece of content.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to uncover the right stories and subject matter expertise.
- Learn everything there is to know about how our products work and why they’re better than everything else out there.
- Stay on top of the news cycle and trends in fintech, open banking and payments to ensure TrueLayer leads these conversations.
- Measure the success of your writing and work with the rest of the marketing team to make sure your content gets its moment in the spotlight.
- Get under the skin of our customers, understanding what motivates them and the pain points they have, by attending industry events, learning from our subject matter experts across the business and listening to sales calls.
About you:
- You’re comfortable writing across several different formats for different projects in the same week.
- This isn’t your first writing job. You don’t have to be experienced in every single format, but a solid portfolio of different types of content is a prerequisite.
- You're ready to question a brief and guide others toward better ways to achieve their goals.
- You don’t like jargon or weasel words, and you know how to turn highly complicated technical concepts into simple, solid writing.
- You’ve got an eye for detail and can edit other team members' work.
- You have some knowledge of how to measure the performance of what you write and can learn how to make it even better next time.
- You like to collaborate with team members all across a business to make your writing even more effective.
- You can innovate and adjust when needed. We’re a company that’s scaling fast, and that sometimes means dealing with change and ambiguity.
We would be particularly excited if you have:
- experience writing scripts for videos or podcasts.
- some experience using tools like Storyblok (our CMS), HubSpot (our CSM) and Notion (our project management software).
- experience working in a fintech startup or scaling business.
- experience working on content localisation (eg working with translation agencies to make content work in different languages and regions).
