Introduction
IBM's procurement function oversees $17B in annual spend for IBM and nearly $100B in spend for our BPO clients through our procurement BPO delivery team and seeks to continually drive savings and increased value. IBM procurement provides IBM and our clients with end-to-end S2P services including spend analytics, category strategy, strategic sourcing across multiple categories, tactical buying, and procurement operations, all governed by robust and adaptable processes and procedures.

IBM is currently undergoing a procurement transformation that will transform internal procurement, making it an exemplar of digital procurement featuring IBM's automation and AI capabilities and leverage this Client Zero environment as the catalyst to bring these capabilities to our procurement BPO clients.

Your Role and Responsibilities
The Contracts Specialist will be charged with maintaining and reviewing contract templates and supporting the Routine Agreements Center of Excellence. Responsibilities will include updating contract templates, managing translations, partnering with internal stakeholders to initiate and review procurement agreements, partnering with legal and finance to ensure that the process, templates, and work instructions are aligned to key control principles, and managing all day-to-day procurement contracts support with a focus on efficiency and organization. Keys to success in this role will include using automation and AI to handle and route tasks and agreements, becoming deeply integrated into the day-to-day commercial engagements globally and becoming a strong support function to the sourcing teams around the globe.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in contract administration, legal, procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of legal and commercial terms commonly used in contracts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Legal/Paralegal experience strongly preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of partnering with senior stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
  • Unwavering commitment to conducting business with ethics and integrity
