The roleWe are seeking a Copywriter to develop and codify our voice and tone while contributing meaningfully to a wide variety of projects supporting our Marketing, Sales, and Product teams, among others. Our goal is nothing short of creating a remarkable, differentiated consumer experience — in an industry that has seen little to no innovation in decades. Among other workstreams, your primary responsibilities will be to redefine our voice and tone, create structured messaging hierarchies, and collaborate closely with our Creative Director, VP of Marketing, and Chief Communications Officer to articulate and deploy a compelling brand narrative. You’ll be a key contributor to our blended design practice, reporting to the Creative Director.
Key responsibilitiesÂ- Evolve and codify the Metropolis voice and tone, bringing guidelines, messaging hierarchies, and value propositions to life.
- Develop storytelling in partnership with the Marketing, Growth, and Product teams for transactional emails, seasonal campaigns, and promotions.
- Create product names and descriptions for a variety of Metropolis’ tech-enabled services and experiences.
- Lead the copy development process for location-level UX, concepting signage, wayfinding, and branded moments that tie the Metropolis online / offline experience tightly together.
- Advocate for best practices by sharing your work and presenting cross-functionally, while being able to precisely articulate conceptual rationale.
- Balance internal vs. external projects, working with a variety of Metropolis stakeholders and creative vendors.
- Contribute to a cohesive customer journey through close collaboration with Marketing, Sales and Product.
- 3-5 years combined experience working in house or on agency creative teams.
- Standard-setting, multifaceted copywriting, copy editing and proofreading skills.
- A strategic approach to the creative process across a wide variety of user touchpoints.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, internal workflow, deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong project management skills and experience working cross functionally.
- Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team.
- Excited about working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
