This Core Engineer will be required to interface with test technicians, material engineers, and application / development engineers to ensure components and products meet all internal and external requirements, and in accordance with the overall program timeline. This position reports to Aftermarket Engineering, Shocks and Struts, in Monroe, MI. The responsibilities of the person in this position include, but are not limited to
- Act as a technical expert on core and application components
- Design, evaluate, and qualify components to ensure they meet finished product requirements
- Provide technical support to existing and new suppliers
- Manage component changes due to obsolescence or supply shortages - either be resourcing or validating alternate components or sources
- Review and modify internal engineering specifications and designs
- Assist in the maintenance and compliance of the engineering IATF16949 and ISO9001 certification and related procedures
- Support and adhere to Tenneco EH&S policies and procedures

Required Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Materials Technology
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in testing or automotive activities
