Gerber is searching for a Business Financial Analyst to the plant in Portland, Oregon!

The position could also be pursued from Fiskars financial hub in Middleton, WI. Assuming then the ability to travel to Portland as needed.

As the Business Financial Analyst for the plant you are a key member of the team in the Gerber plant, driving a sustainable financial agenda at the site to reduce our unit cost and improve efficiency. You will be responsible for the COGS, inventory and CAPEX development at the site together with the Factory Manager, and you create a result oriented environment founded on accountability. Monthly/quarterly reporting and year end closing of the unit are a part of your remit and will be done in line with Fiskars guidelines. You ensure that calculation of the standard cost for own produced and sourced finished goods will be done in a consistent and accurate manner. With data/analysis you provide the basis for fact based decision making and support the management team and the organization with business partnering. You also take part in systems / process development at the plant and in wider development initiatives within Fiskars Global Supply Chain Finance community.

In this role you need to be able to balance competing priorities, coordinate work of others over whom you have no direct authority, exercise independent judgment, gain cooperation and consensus through discussion, persuasion, and influence others to work together towards common goals. You see the big picture but also do not lose attention for detail.

Major Activities and Responsibilities:
  • Monthly quarterly and year end reporting and reporting development
  • Manage the annual planning cycle, short and long term plans for the manufacturing and sourcing unit.
  • Product costing - Responsible for product costing runs, standard costs and monitoring plant variance development
  • Participate in cost improvement projects (CIP) and lean initiatives with operational team members.
  • Follow-up on operational metrics and scorecards, and forecast P&L and Balance Sheet impacts
  • Ensure efficient capital spending (CAPEX) and Inventory - Establish ROI culture and tight cost and inventory control
  • Lead make vs. buy analyses for new products
  • Participate in new product planning meetings, production updates, and improvement initiatives
  • Support the annual audit, insurance reporting and other inquiries
  • Other tasks as assigned

About You:
  • Min. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other relevant field OR equivalent experience
  • Min. 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with good understanding of supply chain operations.
  • Solid experience in financial planning and analysis processes
  • Business understanding; knowledge/experience of consumer good industry
  • Advanced skills in MS-office tools. Well experienced in ERP and BI systems. Knowledge from JD Edwards, SAP, HFM, Tableau and other similar reporting tools seen as a benefit.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and cooperation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities as well as ability to translate business insight into actions.
  • Project management & organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in team
