Counsel, Trademarks
The position provides strategic and practical advice to global business and legal partners. Responsibilities for this key position include collaborating with the Senior Trademarks Counsel regarding the management and coordination of Kraft Heinz's extensive global trademark matters, including prosecution, maintenance, and protection of the Company's global trademarks; drafting and negotiating license agreements; engaging and handling outside counsel; counseling clients on trademark and copyright matters; and assisting, as needed, with intellectual property aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
What's on the Menu?

• Assisting with the selection, prosecution and maintenance of global trademarks, including analyzing trademark searches, drafting availability opinions, and advising business partners on related risks and opportunities; preparing and filing new trademark applications; prosecuting trademark applications; and coordinating renewals.
• Advancing the protection of the Company's global trademarks, including monitoring third-party trademark applications, preparing cease and desist letters, and filing trademark oppositions and cancellations.
• Drafting and negotiating trademark agreements, including licenses and assignments.
• Providing strategic trademark and copyright advice to global business and legal colleagues.
• Managing outside counsel.
• Working closely with the department's Senior Trademarks Counsel, trademark paralegals, and docket clerk.
• Performing other duties as assigned by Deputy General Counsel for Litigation & Intellectual Property.

• I have a JD from an accredited law school with meaningful experience (3+ years) in leading trademark prosecution matters before the USPTO, reviewing and analyzing clearance searches, and advising on matters for global trademark portfolios with a reputable law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
• I have excellent business judgment with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice to clients that may not have a legal background.
• I have outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, simplify, coordinate and satisfy numerous exciting demands.
• I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and am a self-starter who can meet deadlines and balance challenging priorities while maintaining a dedication to professionalism and integrity.
• I possess outstanding logic, reasoning, and problem-solving skills and am able to work in a collaborative environment.
• I am able to provide strategic advice and solutions to senior business and legal leaders.
• I have prior experience in the food or consumer products spaces (preferred, though not required).

Office Collaboration & Hybrid Work Environment
