BNY Mellon - Legal_Wealth Management

BNY Mellon's Legal Department is seeking an experienced and highly competent attorney with a strong background in the area of trusts and estates to join its team of lawyers who provide counsel and guidance to BNY Mellon's Wealth Management business. He or she should be able to offer practical and commercially sensible legal advice and solutions, while fostering an environment of effective risk mitigation. Proactive legal, regulatory, and general risk management advice and support and the ability to spot and address issues early and effectively will be critical components of this position.

In addition to subject matter expertise, the successful candidate should have excellent workflow management, leadership and counseling skills. Building collaborative relationships with business clients, outside counsel and control partners, while also working independently at times and keeping all critical stakeholders effectively and timely informed, will be among the keys to success.

Requirements: Juris Doctor or equivalent with license to practice in at least one state; minimum of 5 years practice and relevant experience in the area of trusts and estates including sophisticated fiduciary administration. Fiduciary litigation and in-house experience in a similar role are pluses.
