Job Description
The Company
Camus Energy empowers electric utilities to transform how the grid operates for a reliable, affordable, and zero-carbon future. Our grid orchestration platform equips utilities with the tools to harness local energy resources to keep the grid running smoothly 24/7/365.
We combine world-leading experience pioneering high-reliability distributed systems at technology companies like Google and Meta with robust power systems expertise from across the energy sector. As the adoption of electric vehicles, rooftop solar, battery storage, and flexible loads continues to accelerate, utilities need partners who can help them orchestrate these local resources reliably at scale. That’s where we specialize.
If helping utilities unlock the full potential of local energy resources sounds like the right challenge for you, let’s talk.
The Role
Camus Energy is helping utilities transform how they operate the grid to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon future. We have big aspirations, and we can’t achieve them alone.
Camus needs great, well-grounded technical solution architects to engage with our utility partners. As a solution architect, you will contribute to all aspects of our technical integrations with our customers, including onboarding, maintenance, troubleshooting, and refactoring of data and control interfaces between grid hardware and Camus’ systems. This integration work will include some coding, typically in Python, but more commonly will focus on configuration, debugging, testing, and system administration activities.
This role will play a pivotal part in expanding Camus’ utility deployments and accelerating revenue growth. This is a senior position suited for someone with 6+ years of professional systems development and administration experience. Communication is paramount at Camus. You will be comfortable talking to customers, demoing your work in front of small audiences, and speak fluent English.

- Work with business development on identifying data quality issues that may come up for prospective customers.
- Consult with product, engineering and business development teams as subject matter expert on utility data and equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working with distribution utilities or energy providers
- Experience working with and creating actionable insights from utility data (e.g., GIS, SCADA, AMI)Â
- Experience successfully engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with data processing pipelines and data ingestion APIs.
- Software development expertise in one or more general purpose programming languages.
- BA/BS or equivalent experience in related fields.

Bonus
- Energy system modelling (OpenDSS, GridLab-D) experience
- Electrical engineering and technical principles of power grid operation
- Experience with the integration and administration of complex distributed software/hardware systems.
- Working with Data pipelines (e.g. Beam, Spark)
