Driver Support Representative Job purpose This Position will be responsible for assisting the dedicated Fleet Manager is all areas of Dispatch and Customer service including payroll. Duties and responsibilities The Assistant must be well versed in the tasks of the office, as this person can be asked to assume any daily tasks that the manager was involved in, in case the manager’s focus is directed in another direction. • Calling customers to set delivery appointments • Calling drivers to ascertain information, or relay work schedules from the manager. • Compiling data in to spreadsheets or other reports • Gather driver’s paperwork, and sort according to destination of separated documents • Loading and empting of drivers within the AS400 • Locates loaded and empty trailers and communicates with the dispatch team regarding how long the trailers have been sitting • Communicates with the shop and drivers to schedule preventative maintenance • Any other tasks assigned by the manager Qualifications • The successful assistant will have a high school diploma, or equivalent. • The ability to converse with people, from drivers, customers, to management, is expected. • Strong computer skills are mandatory, and the ability to communicate through the written word. • Excel, Outlook, Word, namely, are needed. • The ability to be able to transition from one task to another must be performed comfortably. • Effective organizational and prioritization skills for managing multiple tasks with interruptions from phone calls. • Ability to type with speed and accuracy Physical requirements • This job requires sitting 95 percent of the time • While performing the duties of this job use of his/her hands and fingers for typing, handling paperwork and small objects. • Must use computer and telephone equipment.
