Data Analyst

MetroStar is looking for a Data Analyst that is a critical thinker who can work with our team of data and process experts to continue architecture and development of in-progress data architecture, models, warehousing, governance, and services. You're a great fit if you have:

• 3+ years of meaningful experience analyzing and documenting data, determining its quality, meaning, and value
• worked on data environments migration for improved performance and reliability
• experience developing data visualizations, data modeling, other data artifacts
• experience evaluating analytically and systematically problems with workflows, organization, and planning, and proposing corrective actions

You'll love our company if you have: (This is the stuff you MUST have to be a fit)

• 3+ years as a Data Analyst in Government or industry, working on teams, collaborating with management, product architects, developers, engineers, and data scientists to support various business data needs
• a BA/BS in Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, or related field
• familiarity with FIPS 140-2 compliant encryption
• experience documenting and understanding data requirements in support of customer needs
• supported large-scale enterprise data platforms, from migration to ongoing operational support
• experience analyzing data and supporting development of artifacts (e.g., Data Dictionaries, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, Quality Plans, Management Plans, Asset Catalogs)
• the ability to address technical inquiries concerning customization, integration, enterprise architecture and general feature / functionality of various data products.
• experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases (preferably SQLServer) and working with database / data warehouse solutions in cloud (preferably Azure; alternatively, AWS, GCP)
• an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain

We’ll REALLY love you if you have… (This is the bonus stuff that makes you stand out)

• experience working on a scrum team in an Agile environment, writing user stories, estimating levels of effort, documenting in JIRA
• experience working with federal government customers

What your day will look like…

• Participating in daily scrum ceremonies with the team and Product Owner, creating user stories in Jira, estimating story points/levels of effort, and reporting out on status of each ticket
• Working on process and requirements for migration of data environments with performance and reliability. 
• Assessing, understanding, and documenting data sources 
• Addressing technical inquiries concerning customization, integration, enterprise architecture and general feature / functionality of data products 
• Creating and explaining key artifacts, such as data dictionaries, flow diagrams, models, and quality plans, etc.
