Job Summary:
Data Analysts provide data insights, solutions, and tools to help business customers improve their performance and grow by using data to solve business problems. They will partner with customers to find new and better ways of doing things. Create and support data solutions that facilitate better decision making and empower the business to capitalize on opportunities. Serve as a catalyst for change. Understand business needs and provide relevant information and insight to support functional objectives.

Job Description

• Develop and manage data tools and solutions that provide value directly to customers
• Provide information and data insights that support business operations and decisions
• Work within a team to deliver data solutions from idea to production
• Focus on the customer experience and the technology to foster trust in the data tools provided
• Act as a consultant to customers to pair their business problems with your expertise on what is possible with data
• Create and maintain documentation including requirements, validation, and design
• Identify development and data needs in order to improve and streamline decision making

Work Experience

• Required: 3-5 years of experience in a related role
• Required: Advanced Python and SQL working knowledge
• Required: Experience working with structured and unstructured databases
• Required: Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
• Required: A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets
• Preferred: Experience with full stack JavaScript, Clojure/Clojurescript development and frameworks
• Preferred: Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Qlik, Tableau, Power BI etc.)
• Preferred: Experience or knowledge of the insurance industry

Education/Certification

• College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field
• Insurance certifications or affiliation with industry group a plus

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team
• Strong listening, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Able to work in diverse teams, under tight deadlines, to deliver quality work for customers
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
