We seek a skilled and proactive Data Scientist to join our team.
Our client is a leading property insights and analytics provider, delivering data-driven solutions for decision-making in the real estate, financial services, and insurance industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in modern data science techniques, with experience in Python, machine learning, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP). You will be responsible for developing advanced analytics models, leveraging machine learning algorithms, and transforming complex datasets into actionable insights to support our client's evolving business needs.

This role involves close collaboration with an onshore client team in a transitioning environment, requiring proactive problem-solving skills and strong communication to ensure effective knowledge sharing and project alignment.

• Build, train, and deploy machine learning models using tools such as Python (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch), Spark and cloud-native ML services (AWS SageMaker or GCP Vertex AI)
• Data Exploration and Feature Engineering trends, patterns and relationships; create relevant features to improve model performance
• Use advanced statistical techniques to provide insights and support decision-making for real estate, financial services, and insurance applications
• Work with data engineers to design and optimize data workflows, ensuring datasets are clean, reliable and ready for analysis
• Leverage cloud platforms like AWS (S3, SageMaker, DynamoDB) or GCP (BigQuery, AI Platform) to scale data science workflows and optimize model deployment
• Present findings through clear and effective visualizations using tools like Tableau, Matplotlib, or Power BI, ensuring actionable insights for stakeholders
• Actively engage with the client team to acquire domain knowledge and align data science solutions with business needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile framework (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to deliver high-quality data science solutions on time
• Implement monitoring systems to ensure ongoing performance and reliability of deployed models
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines (using GitLab, Bamboo, or similar tools) to streamline model testing and deployment

• Proficiency in Python (for machine learning and statistical modeling), Spark and SQL
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Matplotlib or Seaborn
• Strong understanding of machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning
• Exposure to cloud-based ML workflows on AWS or GCP, including data lake integration
• Hands-on experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with DevOps practices for machine learning, such as CI/CD and automated testing pipelines
• Flexibility to collaborate effectively with Australian clients across time zones
