Database Developer

You'll leverage your proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL to create robust databases and streamline data management processes, ensuring efficient operations and delivering superior customer experiences.

The candidate’s responsibilities will include:

· Developing backend reports to fulfill user requirements, ensuring they effectively support operational needs.

· Creating custom scripts to automate diverse database management processes, monitoring database performance, and troubleshooting as needed.

· Develop, optimize and tune stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries to enhance application performance and efficiency.

· Interfacing with customers, users, and developers as necessary to gather requirements, provide support, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

· Maintaining the integrity of the database schema and design, facilitating seamless transitions during development activities.

· Providing technical subject matter expertise (SME) on data ingestion processes, including integration from various sources such as file systems, and perform maintenance tasks, including tuning with various transition implementation strategies with in-house developed applications.

· Resolving various database issues, including those related to data modeling, design, queries, security control, backup/restore, and disaster recovery.

· Perform load and time testing to audit performance characteristics.

· Report overall system operational performance on an on-going basis to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.

This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL and requires an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI accesses with a polygraph.

Required Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
• 5 to 7 years of experience creating complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and reports using SQL.
• Ability to download data using Linux Bash command line scripts.
• Experience manipulating data in Oracle tables to create custom reports using Oracle Label Security.
• Understanding of legal requirements including taints, purges, and markings.
• Quick learner of complex business rules.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with Oracle 19c.
• Experience developing scripts in Windows PowerShell and/or Linux Bash scripts.
