The Defined Benefit Coordinator helps determine eligibility and calculate benefits payable and to provide other services to participants in Defined Benefit (DB) and Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) pension plans as requested by the participants or needed for internal systems such as Death Management and for projects such as plan terminations. This work supports PRT and Actuarial needs by providing services to the participants in the plans the PRT and Actuarial Teams win. This work adds value to the company by providing services and expertise that supports the wins and provides advantage points such as the team's SLA and expertise with PRT and DB plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine eligibility and calculate final and estimated benefits for DB plans (retirement, termination, death, disability and QDRO benefits) by interpreting and applying legal plan documents/provisions to calculations for multiple clients
  • Complete/Manage special assignments such as task processing, entries, Call Center/Voicemail, email box management, verifications, etc.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • H.S Diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of related experience with benefit plan provisions and calculations.
  • BA/BS, CEBS, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the competencies needed to perform the job.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain positive working relationships with internal/external partners.
  • Ability to identify issues and propose/execute solutions.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail to prioritize multiples priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to learn to use many calculation tools, document storage/retrieval systems, participant data systems, call center logging systems and have at least intermediary skills with Excel.


Salary Band: 03C

As a condition of employment, OneAmerica requires that all new hires who receive a job offer on or after April 18, 2022 provide evidence of full or partial vaccination against COVID-19 within three days of accepting an offer letter with OneAmerica and before employment begins. If applicable, new hires must submit proof that they have received the second dose of a two dose COVID-19 vaccine within 30 days after their first dose is complete. If a new hire wishes to submit a request to be exempt from the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy due to a medical condition, sincerely held religious belief or other legal requirement, the associate will have three days after an offer of employment has been accepted to submit their exemption request for review and consideration by OneAmerica.

This selected candidate will be expected to work remote. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
