Developer Advocate Associate

We are looking for a Developer Advocate Associate passionate about building software and supporting the developer communities in India through technical content.

DigitalOcean seeks a Developer Advocate Associate to become integral to our Global Developer Advocacy division. Our Developer Advocates are pivotal conduits amongst our users, internal spheres such as developer community, product marketing, product development, and the broader developer ecosystem. The Developer Advocacy team operates at the nexus of community engagement and internal collaboration, propelling the uptake of DigitalOcean solutions while influencing product innovation and feature enhancement with actionable insights.

As a Developer Advocate Associate, your primary responsibility will be to create technical content, including code, demos, and videos, to engage and support our developer community. The ideal candidate is a proactive and hands-on professional with 1-2 years of software development experience, comfortable speaking at events, appearing on camera, and fostering connections within the community.

• Building and maintaining open-source projects and demos leveraging DO stack
• Creating technical video content for DO Youtube channel and livestreams
• Speaking at DO meetups and conferences in India (APAC)
• Developer community engagement on Discord, Reddit

What We’ll Expect From You:

• 1-2 years of software development experience
• Hands-on builder 
• Persistent 'Day 1' attitude, marked by urgency, enthusiasm, and a results-driven approach.
• Technical video content creation experience is a plus
• Conference speaking experience is a plus.
